KOSHA representatives in Occupational Health Congress - Macedonia

From 12.10.-14.10.2016 . The Second Macedonian Congress of Occupational Health with international participation, organized by the Macedonian Association of Occupational Health and the Institute of Occupational Medicine of Macedonia. Participants were from various countries from the region and Europe: Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy and Austria. The convention presented more than a hundred scientific papers in the form of written speeches, plenary lectures, poster presentations, forums and workshops. They covered various topics of occupational medicine, including Security and Health at Work; the forums are discussed: ethics in occupational medicine, good practice in occupational medicine, safety at work; bea workshops designed for healthcare workers, a covered topics of psychosocial factors for occupational exposure and health effects.

His speech had Prof.Dr. Agim Shaqiri, representative of KOSHA. The forum on health and safety at work, together with the Head of HSE at the State Labour Inspectorate, Mrs. Sladjana Andonovska and Prof. Dr. Jasmina Caloska, prompted discussion among attendees. Representatives of participating countries presented problems and possible solutions in the field of safety and health at work.

On 14.10.2016 years. Prof. Agim Shaqiri gave a presentation on "The participation of workers and their representatives in safety and health at work." Noted: We also have to consider establishing a committee or advice on OSH, because in many countries in the region such committees operate. Presentation focused on the role of employees and representatives in the field of OSH, with special emphasis in the normative regulations and DeLay and the problems that are present in the implementation of these regulations.

At the end of the congress, the President of the Macedonian Association of Occupational Medicine Dr. Dragan Mijakoski, said: "These events mainly affect the dissemination of information concerning the safety and health at the workplace, prevention of occupational diseases and injury when performing tasks, and course and to raise awareness among workers and employers in all key partners in the field of safety and health at work and improve conditions in the workplace. So the motto of this year's congress is: Working together for health workers. "
